Darkness in the heart of Dallas

The demagoguery of Robert Jeffress, Pastor of First Baptist Dallas megachurch, is striking in its . Quoting Jeffress, “Islam is wrong. It is a heresy from the pit of hell. Mormonism is wrong. It is a heresy from the pit of hell.  Judaism — you can’t be saved being a Jew. Much of what you see today in the Catholic Church today doesn't come from God's word," said Jeffress in 2011, "It comes from this cult-like, pagan religion.

Jeopardizing his church’s tax exempt status by entering the political arena, Jeffress said, “In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong-Un."

Megachurch pastor Robert Jeffress has argued that Indian spiritual leader Mahatma Gandhi is going to hell for not being a Christian and suggested that former President Jimmy Carter may be leading others to hell for suggesting otherwise. (Christian Post)

Robert Hunt, SMU's Perkins School of Theology and director of the Center for Evangelism and Missional Church Studies, wrote that Jeffress represents a type of "darkness in the heart of Dallas." (Christian Examiner, Nov. 2015)
